Many generations ago, our family and friends began as farmers in Jackson County, Georgia. Like many Southerners, they all developed a knack for preparing and cooking things grown or raised on their local farms. Through the years, almost all were known far and wide for their "signature" dish. Each relative or family friend had their special cake, pie, sweet tea, casserole, or main dish that was always requested for church socials, family reunions, and neighborhood get-togethers.
